Just wanted to agree with Parag that the Roosevelt is a place to stay away from--I lived there my first two years and knew three other people in the building. When we moved out, we had to either have a letter from a lawyer or file a civil suit to get our security deposits back. And it's just not a nice place.

Hello, So I'll be entering med school with you (class of 2012)... yay! I also went to undergrad at Case so you know I enjoyed my experience. (Hopefully I'll meet you this weekend : ) ). Anyways, Waldorf is close to campus, and I'll see the inside for the first time this weekend. From what I hear it's hit-or-miss. I recommend you see the apt you'll be renting before signing. Three of my friends lived together this year and will stay there this upcoming year again, so they must have liked it, but they say not all rooms are worth the money. Hessler apartments are close, often considerably cheaper, cheaper parking, and some have balconies. This area, including Hessler/Ford/ East 115th and 116th St., is also next to the business school and library. If you're looking for faster pace living area, Cleveland Heights/Coventry has affordable living with more things to do in the area, such as bars, restaurants. Also, if you have a higher budget downtown is good. Since I've already lived for 4 years around the campus, I'm thinking hard about moving a little bit farther away such as downtown or Shaker. Shaker is a nice area that is an equal distance from campus as Coventry with some bars but more of a balance between nightlife and laid-back environment. Everything depends on how much you want to pay and how close you want to be to certain things. For the most part, people looking for what the waldorf has to offer, with more time to shop will usually find something for up to 200 dollars less per month in little italy, or by perusing the phone numbers listed on the apartment buildings on murray hill or random road. I know this is a lot of info for anybody reading it, but write some of the streets down, ask the students/faculty, and see what you think. My name is obviously Liz and I'd rather not give my last name out online but there can't be too many Liz's this weekend that graduated last year from Case. Last note: Random Road, Murray Hill Road, and East ? St off of cornell Road are the closest places to live to the medical school campus. If I live on campus I'll be looking at Random road or little italy. Yikes...this was longer than I expected. I love Cleveland and the friends that I've met so please ask questions about other things if you're interested...
