Hello! I'm Cathy Tang, a Seattlelite for the past 10 years, graduating in 1.5 weeks from the University of Washington '06. I have exactly one month of summer break after graduation before I start up life as a med student. Like Mari, I also found out 3 weeks ago that I'm headed to the Midwest, back near my hometown, Detroit, MI. I miss the snow! Although those of you who've been in Cleveland probably do not...and I'll probably be feeling the same way in 6 months, but I do miss it! Short notice for everything, wow. Currently attempting to find a place to stay, preferably somewhere cheap and with free parking. Have no idea where to start. I'm headed down to Cleveland June 24th, and I don't think that's enough time to find a place so any help I can get would be fantastic! My first two loves are eating and sleeping. My next two are dancing (hip hop) and sports. I'll play (and am decent at) any sport so sign me up if you need a girl for intramural games! I need to get back into shape. Night life? I'm there. I play an instrument, but I'm pretty sure not too many people have heard of it, unless you watch a lot of Asian shows. And yes, girls do have as much bodily gas as guys, so I'd like to apologize beforehand for my loud burps. I'm also known to share too much info, but hey, we're gonna be doctors! We gotta get used to the sharing of too much info. Can't wait to meet everyone! Drop me a line anytime! cattang22@gmail.com -Cathy

Hey everyone! My name is Marisa and I am an incoming med student. I was born and raised right outside of Pittsburgh so it is awesome to see some other natives of the Burgh comin to Case.
I went to Case for undergrad and have been working as an engineer for Neurosurgery at University Hospitals so I am still in Cleveland. It seems like most of my friends from the area have left me so it would be great to meet up with some of you who are in town. Let me know what's up!

As many above have already mentioned, Tommy's is a great place. I would be cool with meeting there on saturday night. If we wanted to go a little further east, there is a fun Irish Pub at Legacy village - good food, good drinks. Either way, I just think it would be nice to get together and say a quick hello. What do you all think? Brian

Hey all, Happy Friday to everyone who is working! Ellyn and I will be coming in from Pittsburgh on Saturday. Tommy's sounds like a winner, so let's plan to meet there around 6pm. I'm tall, lanky and Scandinavian (read: no tan) - if you see someone who fits that description and looks like they've never been to Tommy's before, that's me. If I get there first I'll try to get a table where we can all sit. Here's my cell again, just in case: 412.443.1791. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone! Matt

Hey everybody,
My name is Chris Gray and I'm another one of the people who just found out Case would be in their future...and so soon! I remember Case was actually the first secondary I received...what a long road it has been since then.
Yeah, so I graduated way back in 2002 and have been doing research ever since then. It took me a couple of years to figure out that I wanted to be a MD. Even though I'm only 25, I still feel a little late to the party... I am from a small town in Southern Oregon, although I've been living in "beautiful" Houston, TX for a while now. I am looking forward to eventually making my way back home to be a small-town doctor (just like in the movies!). I am a sports nut, especially for baseball, and plan to spend a lot of my little free time at Jacobs Field. I love the outdoors and am really going to miss climbing mountains, hiking, camping, snowboarding, and everything else us Oregonians take for granted.
So I definitely feel a wee bit behind in getting ready for the start of school. I'm not planning on rolling into Cleveland until the week of July 4th...but now that I see that so many of y'all are already there, I wonder if that's a mistake. I'm looking for a roommate-in-a-house type of situation, so I really hope someone has a home for me before I have to resort to the strangers on Craigslist. If anyone has any leads, please let me know! I promise I'm really nice!
I'm looking forward to meeting everyone next month. My email is cbgray@gmail.com...
Chris

Howdy all, I'm Justin Kan, finally a second year. (whoa, its been a fast ten months). Finally logged on to this thing so Lei Lei would stop bugging me. I am originally from baltimore, but lived in Boulder, CO, for the eight years prior to med school. (University of Colorado, 2003) I'll be in town this summer, and so will a bunch of other folks, so if you guys are getting together and want to meet up with some of the second years e-mail me and I can send it to the list. (jak81@case.edu). Also if anbody is in to running or road biking I am always looking for company. See you guys in the fall, JK

Hey everyone,
My name's Ben Hagopian and I just finalized my decision to attend Case next month. I'm originally from Boston and graduated from Tufts University in 2005 (which is right outside of Boston) and I'm ready to do the Midwest swing! In my year off, I worked as a lab analyst in a wastewater treatment facility. SO glad to be outta there. My interests include basketball (I eat, breathe, and sleep March Madness during that wonderful time of the year), personal fitness, going to concerts, eating, public health, Family Guy and any other good comedies (I actually find the TV show House quite amusing), and of course the beloved Boston Red Sox.
I'm also currently looking for housing in and around the Case campus. I haven't had time to leaf through all of the materials yet but I'm looking for a relatively inexpensive, quiet place with one other med student (male or female, doesn't matter). If you can help me out with advice or are also looking for a potential roommate, gimme a holler at Benjamin.Hagopian@gmail.com or on IM at Hagopes05.
Looking forward to meeting you all in one short month!
- Ben

I'm up for dinner/drinks sometime this week. I get in on the 6th (Tuesday). It'd be cool if we could hook up w/ the 2nd years as well. Also, is anyone into the World Cup? It starts soon and I was hoping to find some folks to watch w/ me (and a good place to catch the games and drown my sorrows, since my team's probably not going to make it )

I'm a huge soccer fan and would be up for watching games, whenever/wherever. There is a great bar on conventry called Johnny Malloy's and it has a huge tv - might be a good option.
How does thursday sound for dinner and drinks? Second years?
My cell is 216-952-9496. Brian
